CONSULTANCY

We find solutions where others aren’t looking.

We love helping organisations find new solutions to entrenched problems or emerging challenges and supporting people to be their optimal selves.

In order to do this properly, we must first get to the heart of the challenge to find the opportunity. Our usual approach is to undertake a series of structured conversations with either specific teams or individuals, or by involving all layers of the organisation, to find the win-win for all involved.

Consultancy support can either be stand-alone or prior to any Switch Model® Workshops to ensure they are tailor made to maximise impact.

Consulting with employees also acts as a great way of evaluating whether the changes in mindsets and behaviours have been achieved post intervention, by using an impactful and insightful follow up consultation process.

Creating a ‘win-win’ – rotational roles

Problem to solve: Paramedics leaving ambulance services in high numbers in order to work in GP practices, depleting one area to service another.

Size of the problem: UK wide

Consultation: Interviews with GPs, paramedics, ambulance service leaders, policy makers, NHS England, Health Education England and many more stakeholders, found the solution in creating rotational roles to share paramedics as a valuable resource.

Result: Think Outs, on behalf of Health Education England, has successfully piloted and a rotating paramedic workforce solution showing it to be a viable and impactful solution to the problem.  Within three years, rotation is now being implemented in some form across 90% of English ambulance services; a real win-win for all involved. Think Outs lead the programme to help embed rotation as business as usual.

Next Steps: Consulting with and serving other organisations and countries who identify rotational roles as an intelligent, futureproof workforce solution.

Focus on people and results follow – high intensity use of health services

Problem to solve: The vast majority of areas in the world have a challenge with a small group of people accessing health and social care more than expected – frequent callers to emergency services; high attenders to hospitals; people who call helplines and call centres repeatedly or who visit their doctor frequently. Finances and scares resources were being depleted and people were stuck in a revolving door situation and often at stalemate with the care givers or organisations trying to help.

Size of the problem: Worldwide

Consultation: Interviews with GPs, paramedics, ambulance service leaders, policy makers, NHS England, Health Education England and many more stakeholders, found the solution in creating rotational roles to share paramedics as a valuable resource.

Result: Think Outs designed, developed and implemented and incredible programme which has been successfully rolled out across 80% of England – and growing! Huge reductions in activity is seen because people supported by the programme are progressing and ‘getting better’.

Next Steps: Consulting with and serving other organisations and countries who want to work with this cohort and reduce their activity.
